SpecPage launches integrated SA2 Worldsync interface for Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)

Merlischachen-Küssnacht (Switzerland), April 18, 2013. – The Swiss software company SpecPage announced the launch of a standardized Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) which is based on the SA2 Worldsync-standard.

The solution serves as an extension to the specification management system SpecPDM as well as the online specification portal Supplier’s Guide, which are used by a large number of customers worldwide.

In addition to the simple and centralized management of all specification data, nutritional values, allergens labelling and declarations, the system manages all data that meets the requirements of the new Food Information Regulation EU 1169/2011 and the European labelling requirements for distance selling (Internet). The product specification data can be automatically exchanged between parties without any manual and error-prone processing.

„We have received a number of inquiries in the recent months from existing customers and new prospects that want to prepare timely for the new requirements of the new Food Information Regulation EU 1169/2011”, says Severin Weiss, CEO SpecPage. „The Global Data Synchronization plays an increasingly important role for the automatic publication of accurate data on all connected systems. Companies hope to gain a competitive advantage, so that they can progressively present their products for distance selling.”

The simple implementation of the specification solution of SpecPage supports companies quickly and at relatively low costs with the conversion from the former SINFOS data pool to the standardized, SA2 Worldsync GDSN-certified data pool.
